A Touch of Magenta

The DAP is supported in part by awards from the MICHIGAN COUNCIL FOR ARTS AND CULTURAL AFFAIRS and the NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS.

Sponsored by the Downtown Art Place, this exhibit is open to artists over the age of 18. The exhibit will highlight original fine art inspired by the color magenta. Interpretations of this theme may be broad and work is not limited to representational work.

Painting, Drawing, Original Printmaking, Sculpture (size limitation because of our space), Fiber, Metal, Wood and Mixed Media.
All 2-D work must be hung with wire (no saw-tooth hangers), art must be original and created within the last two years


Work will be judged from jpeg images (300 dpi, no larger than 2 Megabytes) on CDs, USB drives or digitally submitted.


Each image should be labeled with artist's name, title of work and dimensions. These submissions may be emailed to: exhibitionsdap@gmail.com.


Framed pieces that are larger than 16 x 20 and require glass, should be framed with plexiglas.


Each artist may enter a maximum of 3 original works.


All entries must include: A completed form with your preferred email address, a non-refundable fee of $30 for up to 3 entries payable to the Downtown Art Place 111 E. Aurora St. Ironwood, Mi. 49938

Notification of Acceptance is Aug. 21-25 by email.


Deliver accepted artwork , Sept. 4-6 during gallery hours (12:00- 4:00 p.m.)


Award Ceremony and reception will be held on Sept. 14 from 5-7 p.m.
Work may be for sale, the gallery takes a 30% commission.
Juror awards: $500., $250., $100., and $100. There is also a people's choice award for $50.00
Awards are made possible by our generous donors.
Artwork may be picked up Oct. 16-20. The artist is responsible for shipping costs.
Entry of artwork into this exhibit implies an agreement on the part of the artist to comply with all the conditions stated on this prospectus.
